The end of the school year is quickly approaching, which means it is time for educators to complete our end of year summatives. This is a great time to start reflective practice, if you have not yet done so. However, as educators, we all reflect to some point. We reflect over lessons when planning, but let’s take it another step and reflect upon our words, tone, and actions when presenting our lessons. Let’s reflect upon our relationships that we try to build in a positive manner with our colleagues, students, and families.
When reflecting, we are evaluating our practices and responses/reactions. Through reflection, we can identify and explore our practices and our underlying beliefs. Reflection may lead to changes and improvements in your teaching.
Take time this week to pause and reflect upon a moment each day.
